Business Controller

Fruitful Ventures is the powerhouse behind a dynamic group of companies, including Olympic Fruit, Fresh Pack Logistics, Hoofdman-Roodzant, FreshPride, Half-Baked and Innofruit. We operate in the business of trading fresh fruit and vegetables from both our own growing locations and those of our partners. Located at the Handelscentrum in Barendrecht, we centralise our Shared Services such as Finance & Control, CSR, QA, HRM, IT and Marketing.

You are a passionate finance professional with a keen eye for detail and a talent for analysing data. You thrive in a dynamic environment where you need to be able to move quickly and solve complex financial issues. You are a spider in the web between the financial, operational and commercial departments and with your excellent communication skills you are able to communicate financial information in an understandable way to different stakeholders inside and outside the organisation.

You are proactive and results-oriented and have a hands-on mentality. You can work independently, but you are also a team player who enjoys working with colleagues to achieve common goals. You are able to work with colleagues from different countries/cultures. You have a strong affinity with numbers and a drive to continuously strive to improve and optimise (financial) processes.

You and the dynamic Finance & Control team are responsible not only for the financial ins and outs, but also for developing innovative ‘non-financial’ reports. The Finance & Control team consists of 9 other colleagues.

What will you be doing?

As Business Controller, you play a crucial role within our Finance & Control team. Your work is diverse and challenging and includes both business control and financial control. Your responsibilities include:

• Financial Reporting: You will create, consolidate and analyse monthly financial and management reports. You ensure that these reports are not only accurate, but also understandable and useful for decision-making within the organisation. You actively engage with feedback and continuously look for ways to further improve our reports.
• Projects and ad-hoc analyses: You support various projects by providing financial analyses and reports. This includes ad-hoc analyses to answer specific management questions and support strategic plans.
• Optimisation of management information systems: You manage and develop our management information systems, such as PowerBI. You work on improving our working methods and procedures (AO/IC) and ensure that the right data is available to the right people.
• Identify and implement improvements: You are constantly looking for opportunities to improve business processes. Through your analytical skills and critical eye, you help identify inefficiencies and set up improvement initiatives to optimise (financial) processes within the organisation.
• Cooperation with various departments: You act as an important link between the financial, operational and commercial departments. You ensure that financial information is accessible to other teams and that they understand how to achieve financial goals. Your communication skills enable you to explain complex financial information clearly.

What do you offer?

• You are able to work and think at HBO+/University level with a financial-economic orientation;
• Accurate, analytical, taking initiative and a great sense of responsibility are qualities you possess;
• Your fluency in Dutch and English;
• 2-4 years' experience in a similar position;
• Experience with PowerBI is a big plus.
• You are willing to travel to our growing locations in South Africa, Northern Macedonia and Serbia when necessary.
